Midwife and Maternity Courses
The Ockenden Report has highlighted a fresh set of challenges to Maternity Care in the UK. We understand that the implementation of the recommendations will be challenging for many trusts and we aim to provide accessible and affordable solutions to some of these challenges.
"All Trusts must ensure midwives responsible for co-ordinating a labour ward attend a fully funded and nationally recognised labour ward co-ordinator education module, which supports advanced decision making, learning through training in human factors, situational awareness and psychological safety to tackle behaviours in the workforce"
Ockenden 2022
Team working, culture and civility within maternity units has also been in the spotlight. There is increasing recognition of the importance and value of workplace culture and civility, and this is apparent as Ockenden articulates that all units incorporate upholding civility in the workplace as part of mandated human factors training.
Our Courses can assist you in delivering these must-do standards from the report, whilst supporting delivery of year 4 of the Maternity Incentive Scheme (safety actions 6 and 8). We have been involved in the delivery of human factors and non-technical skills courses for over 10 years and bring a wealth of experience from maternity and associated specialities.
'hands down the absolute best study day I have ever been on and all staff should go!'
