Midwife and Maternity Courses
Labour ward coordinators are integral in setting the culture and leading safety standards within the birthing environment and for the wider maternity team. Our midwifery leaders courses are developed to support trusts and the LMNS to implement the recommendations set out by Ockenden and are based on the non-technical domains in NHS England’s Labour Ward Coordinators Framework.

Team working, culture and civility within maternity units has also been in the spotlight. There is increasing recognition of the importance and value of workplace culture and civility, and this is apparent as Ockenden articulates that all units incorporate upholding civility in the workplace as part of mandated human factors training.

Midwife Leaders Course
This course for individual midwives is based on domains from the Labour Ward Coordinators Framework and aims to provide the necessary skills recommended by Ockenden for training in non-technical skills, human factors, and tackling behaviours in the workplace.

Midwife Leaders Course - Training in Trainers Course
This 2 day course is for senior or practice development midwives (minimum of 2 per trust). This course will equip participants to deliver an introductory Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills Course at their own trusts.
This course will cover the Midwife leaders’ course and a training the training element to facilitate delivery back in the individual trusts. All learning materials for delivery will be provided.
